SEMI GUN

This board is altered to surf in waves above 4ft. The length of the board is increased and generally the width narrowed compared to a shortboard. The rocker is elongated with a flatter planing surface in the centre; and the apex is pushed forward slightly.

Surfing behind the apex of the rocker offers a lot of drive and stabitily. Coming off the bottom particularly, the board sits in the water firmly on late take offs and when driving off the bottom.

The outline is also wider through the nose than that of the shortboard, this offers the potential to move forward on the board and hotdog.

I enjoy surfing this board in heavy waves, but also on open point breaks or any big faced wave.
